Reminders:

Picture Day- is TOMORROW during science class!

NJHS- The next NJHS meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 25th in Mrs. Pugliese's room. Bring a bag lunch and a writing utensil.

NJHS Washington D.C. Parent Meeting- Thursday, September 26th at 7:00pm - It will cost about $625 and the first deposit will be due the day you register (which will be the next morning). If you are thinking about allowing your son or daughter to travel to D.C. or would like more information, it is imperative that you and/or your child attend this meeting.

-Pass out and go over "Notes on Writing a One Paragraph Response" WS (hang onto)

-Pass out "Editing Sheet" - put into binder

-Pass out "Dos and Don'ts" - put into binder

-Check and turn in 9/11 Highlighting page and questions with short response answer on the back

Goals: Comprehend informational text with reading strategies (guided highlighting)

History

Warm Up - Check WU #2 and turn in #1-2 WU page 

 - Turn in chp 3-4 Vocab Chart (due by tomorrow)

-Begin "Colonial Regions" reading and WS (chart) 

Homework -Vocabulary Chart must be done by Friday!

Goals: Understand how America first developed through compare and contrast

Debate

Warm Up - Impromptu Debates in small groups 

Lesson

-"Fact vs Opinion" WS check and turn in

-Assign and begin "new" mini debate topic - using "Mini Debate" WS (brainstorm your own arguments in your group) 

Homework - 

Goals: Using FACTS instead of opinions for supporting evidence in an argument.
